Photonics Integrated Circuit Scientist
About the role
We are seeking a Photonics Integrated Circuit Scientist to help define and advance the scientific foundation of our photonic technology platform. You will contribute to novel device concepts, evaluate experimental results, and help translate emerging scientific ideas into scalable hardware capabilities.
What you’ll do
- Develop and assess new photonic device concepts and integrated circuit architectures
- Build theoretical and physical models to guide device design and experimental planning
- Work closely with fabrication, measurement, and engineering teams to validate and iterate designs
- Contribute to platform strategy for scalable photonic systems
What we’re looking for
- Strong background in integrated photonics, device physics, and materials relevant to scalable platforms
- Experience connecting scientific theory to experimental validation and practical hardware outcomes
- Familiarity with nanofabrication, optical characterization, and design tradeoff analysis
- PhD or equivalent experience in physics, electrical engineering, or a related discipline preferred
Location: Camperdown, Sydney, Australia however we are also open to applicants residing in, or willing to move to, Australia and the US.
