Light-tight sample holder for superconducting sample measurements

Design a light-tight sample holder, investigate any unwanted box-modes and measure a calibration sample to evaluate its performance relative to the existing prototype

Emergence Quantum is inviting students to apply for an internship to design a light-tight sample holder in CAD tools.

Project objectives

·     Design a light-tight sample holder in CAD tools.

·     Simulate the enclosure to investigate any unwanted box-modes.

·      Measure a calibration sample to evaluate its performance relative to the existing prototype sample holder

Scope of work

CAD design, simulation, performance verification measurements

Expected outputs

Delivery of sample enclosure, design files and report / presentation into the relative performance and the design considerations

Student learning outcomes

Mechanical computer added design, rf-simulation, rf-measurement, cryogenics and vacuum systems experience

About the internship

The paid internship will be completed onsite at Emergence Quantum, based in Camperdown, Sydney.

Interested applicants are invited to send an email to the team with your CV, cover letter and right to work in Australia. We are also happy to speak to your university should you wish to complete this internship as an industry internship.
