Are you someone who is excited by the opportunity to building something new? We are seeking talented Digital ASIC Engineers to join our dynamic team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge hardware for the control and readout of quantum systems.

About Us: Emergence Quantum is a company at the forefront of quantum technology, driving innovative solutions in quantum computing, cryogenic electronics and communication.  

Based out of the vibrant area of Camperdown near downtown Syndey and in close collaboration with the University of Sydney, you will be responsible for the design and verification of low power digital blocks that will operate near absolute zero.

Responsibilities:

• Design, simulate, and verify digital RTL blocks of varied complexity and functionality.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and specifications.

• Perform digital backend design flow, including synthesis, PNR, STA and other related steps.

• Engage in all stages of testing and characterization of ASICs at cryogenic temperatures, including troubleshooting of design and performance issues.

• Document design processes, test results, and provide technical reports.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, or a related field.

• Proven experience in digital RTL and backend design (2+ years).

• Proficiency in EDA tools for digital backend, simulation, and layout (e.g., Cadence, Synopsys).

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

• Knowledge of quantum computing principles and technologies and quantum error correction.

• Familiarity with cryogenic CMOS technology and its applications in quantum computing.

• Experience with advanced parasitic extraction and back-annotated simulation; Low-power design techniques and flows.
