PCB Design Engineer (Staff Engineer)
About the role
We are seeking a Staff PCB Design Engineer to lead the development of advanced board-level hardware for quantum-classical systems. In this role, you will design high-density, low-noise, high-performance PCBs and interconnect solutions that operate reliably in demanding environments, including cryogenic systems.
What you’ll do
- Lead schematic capture, PCB layout, and design reviews for mixed-signal and high-speed systems
- Develop cryo-compatible and high-density board designs with strong attention to signal integrity, power delivery, grounding, and EMI performance
- Collaborate with ASIC, RF, packaging, test, and systems teams to deliver robust end-to-end hardware solutions
- Support board bring-up, debugging, validation, and transition to manufacturing
What we’re looking for
- Strong experience with high-density PCB design, controlled impedance routing, and mixed-signal systems
- Expertise in low-noise hardware design and board-level integration for sensitive electronics
- Familiarity with cryogenic, vacuum, or otherwise extreme operating environments
- Ability to work across the stack, from subsystem design through full-system integration
Location: Camperdown, Sydney, Australia however we are also open to applicants residing in, or willing to move to, Australia and the US.
